Club History & Information

The Blackstone Valley Spinners baseball club was originally founded as the Bellingham Bruins in January 2022. That spring, the organization was approved for membership in the Central New England Baseball Association (CNEBA) and competed in its inaugural season during the summer of 2022. The club was co-founded by Marshall Quinley (President & General Manager) and J.P. Lucier (Assistant General Manager & Head Coach). Following its first season, the organization underwent a rebrand and relocation, officially becoming the Blackstone Valley Spinners in January 2023.

The Spinners are a semi-professional baseball organization based in the southern portion of the Blackstone Valley region of New England. While classified as an amateur team, the program operates with the structure, expectations, and competitive standards of a summer collegiate baseball program, requiring a high level of preparation, accountability, and performance from its players.

The team plays the majority of its home games at Renaud Field in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, with additional games and practices occasionally held at Tetreault Park in Mendon, Massachusetts.

The Spinners compete in the CNEBA, which is affiliated with the nationally recognized National Amateur Baseball Federation (NABF). The CNEBA regular season typically begins during the week of Memorial Day (May 25, 2026) and runs for approximately eight weeks, concluding in late July (July 24, 2026). During the regular season, the team plays 24 league games, along with 5–6 preseason and non-league contests against teams from other respected leagues, including the George Donnelly Sunset League (GDSL) and the Yawkey League. The CNEBA postseason begins the weekend immediately following the regular season finale.

Each season, the Spinners carry a 30-man roster, finalized on June 30, composed primarily of current collegiate baseball players, recent graduates, and a select group of college alumni, generally between the ages of 18–24. While the roster evolves year to year, the organization consistently emphasizes team chemistry, a gritty, high-effort mindset, and an intelligent, fundamentally sound style of play.

After reaching the CNEBA semifinals in back-to-back seasons, the Blackstone Valley Spinners broke through in 2025, capturing the CNEBA Championship and establishing themselves as one of the premier programs in the league. With a proven championship pedigree and a commitment to sustained excellence, the Spinners continue to build a culture focused on winning, development, and representing the Blackstone Valley with pride.

The Spinners look to repeat their success and join a select group of organizations that have successfully won back-to-back championships in the CNEBA.
